This is the million dollar question. Leaving aside the war between manufacturers, in which all defend their position, the choice of the ideal valve is based on choosing the one that provides the best service at the lowest cost. Only experience and good advice will lead us to the best solution.
Several types of valves are suitable for the same service and/or fluid; the rest is a matter of commercial interest, delivery time or brand.
The answer to the question: Does the universal valve exist? The answer is No: its cost would be so high that its manufacture would not be justified.
As an example of an installation we have chosen a full cycle wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), to see the mission of each type of valve within this type of installation, and also because of the large number and variety of valves that are needed for its operation.
